ok ok already here ya go

well after popular demand i suppose i will let you know what ive been up too
northfield crit
well bruce, thad, and i roled up to northfield mn for there forth of july crit. i entered the 3/4 race opting out of the 4race. thad and them entered the masters race right before that....dumbasses. anyways. i did my usual antix and pushed the first few laps pretty hard. in doing so i guess i lost all my teamates and iowa riders. sorry they were pretty spent that being there third race of the day. any ways i stayed up to the front sitting in and doin a little work. i was surrounded by teams with numbers. so ifigured id let them do the work and position myself for the sprint. there was a nice big hill in it with a down hill sprint to the finish. i was goin up the hill much faster and easier than everyone else. so i decided on the last lap i would sit back till the hill and then move up to second or third cause there wasnt much passin threw the technical course and comin out of the final turn i would be sittin perfect for the sprint. that all worked out great...not. as i came into the final hill the pace was really high and i was doing my plan, movin up nicely when this lcc guy cut me off to grab a wheel and i had to slam on my breaks half way up the hill, then jump back on it to catch back on. it took a little out of me and i was sitting way to far back now. comin out of the last turn we were doin about thirty two and i was able to make up some ground but i only ended up fifth. damn i wanted better but it was a good fast race. very well put on too.
recovery
well after every good race you got to let your body recover and recover i did.

thad and i rolled the single speeds down to the bar

thad packed some treats for the cruise

i dont even remember takin this pic
clear lake road race
the folowin weekend i cruised up to clear lake for the road race. the race was a nuetral roll out. i was mid pack and it was goin so slow that i thought people were goin to take me out. so i moved up to the front and just set a nice easy tempo. when i looked back there was a hundred yard gap between me and the field. well i wasnt attackin and if they didnt want to go fast then ten miles an hour thats their fault. so needless to say by the time we got out of the neutral zone i attacked and was solo for a looooonnnng time. to long. so i finally see two people bridging up to me so i let off and let them catch. it was jared and some nis guy who quickly popped off the back. jared and i worked well together but after both our big efforts into the wind we were a little fatigued. i looked back and saw another chase group comin. i told jared that i was sitting up and recovering until we were caught because we were gonna get caught anyways. so i sat up, got caught, and sat in for the last three miles. thad lead me out which was pretty sweet. jon and jared put up a tough fight though and it was not an easy victory.
the podium

so much drivin. to many hours logged in the seat of a car.
pappilion crit
well the next race i did was the papillion crit in omaha ne. clark, thad, bruce, and i rolled over. this race was a pretty sweet course. long up hill, round a corner for a little steeper part and then a long down hill around a corner to the finish. well it started out the same as usual. me at the front pushing it. i guess i strung it out pretty good cause i started lapping people about the forth lap. i looked back and thought i should get out of the wind for a little while. then there was a wreck involving steven. so i punched it and when i got to the top of the hill i was surrounded by two skc guys. uh oh i thought. there gonna work me over. the next lap we came around steven was back with us after takin his free lap. steven and i decided to work together. he attacked and they brought him back so then i attacked and the rest of the race i was alone. well alone until i reach thad and doug they put in some efforts to pull me along and then they let off and i was on my way. so then i got back around to steven and the 2 skc guys. then i helped steven get second. so i lapped the field and helpped my buddy get second. saweeeeeet.
even got a kiss from the podium girl.

iowa games road race

well the followin mornin after omaha we went to boone for the road race. it was an awesome race and lots of fun. i attacked a few times, everyone just let me dangle. then at the beginning of the second lap dave and i sprung and with nobody chasing we got a pretty good gap. dave and i worked very well together and put in a huge effort. we were able to hold it till the end and rolled in together. i heard there was some mayhem behind us that mabe gave us the much needed time to hold our lead. ah oh well it was all in fun and loved ridin with those fellas. thats happenin nxt year.

the start

the finish
clark thought his medal looked good on lilly
trainin
well obviuosly ive been trainin some. clark and i have put in some serious time, but it hasnt all been with clark. we rolled down to i.c. for a thursday nite ride. i can tell ya i know why those boys down there can climb. to many damn hills. we were pretty worked when we got back.
heres the grewsome twosome that put me in the hurt box

RAGBRAI
after all that trainin i needed a break and headed to the best bicycle party in the nation. man it was a load of fun.
rocked it with this guy
picture doesnt do it justice on how many people rode this thing

at nite we partied like rock stars

and rode like superstars during the day

saw lots of weird shit like shots out of pig insiminators
sure was fun ridin with everybody

some people got out of hand
other people went just to make their millions

ragbrai was the best and i will never miss another. if you ridi even just a little...go
Davenport
so rite after the week long party i had to go to d-port for another week for work. so my time that wasnt workin or lookin at naked breasts i hit the streets w titties and bruce. they took me on some death march and made me hurt.
look at um all laughn at me before they rip my legs off
titties and i also did a little boozin
state road race
well after the two and half weeks of nonstop partying i finally got back to reality. got home sat and worked all nite. got off took a couple hour nap and the drove back over to dubuque for the race. i was spent before i even got there. the race is hilly and the pace in my opinion was slow. i forgot to tell you i really hate wheel suckin bitches and let me tell you this race was full of them. not to take anything away from jared because he and i spent alot of time at the front. which was the shitty part cause wee had no teamates. i would slow down and people would not pass. i think there was only three people even racin in this race. get your noses in the wind and race you bunch of pussys. i have never been so pissed during a race. it was horrible. for teams to have tactics such as sit on chris's wheel and let him make the moves. fuck and then in the sprint the finish wasnt even visible. it was a crack in the road that had chalk in it. WTF so the sprint sucked cause it was deceavin you couldnt tell where to sprint to. any ways i got third. got to where i thought the finish was and then let up only to see the finish twenty feet down the road, bullshit. im not mad cause of the not winning im mad cause the race fuckin sucked. with loud mouths in the race, wheel suckers, and no one wanting to do anything added up to be a recipe for chris to be pisses.and normally im a really calm, nice, dude who loves people and bikes, so you know it had to be somethin. mabe i was just tired and let people get to me. idk all i do know is im gonna go drink some beer and ride my bike
so now i updated and ill try to stay on top of this a little more for ya
out
beav
wonder what titties is doin rite now.......

part of racing is learning how to deal with people who will not pull through. instead of bitching about it, learn how to race and deal with it. i guess that sounds harsh, but part of racing is learning how to get rid of people sitting on your wheel. the state road race is a perfect race to get rid of people because of the hills. learn from this race and don't make the same mistakes in the future . . .

Way to take a dump on the blog. It's about frickin' time!

Nice trophy girl. Where did you meet her? Did you get her number? Is that your hand on her ass?

BTW, wheelsuckers suck, but i've learned that it is a part of road racing.

But it still sucks.

I'm glad you're back finally!!! I thought you guys dropped off the face of earth.

I really like your camera. What kind is it? I wasn't smart enough to look at it while I was holding it.

Welcome back to blog world.

You were marked from the beginning, as someone joked that you should be a three, before the race started. Combining that rep, with all the success and racing you have been doing, it didn't make sense to attack the race favorite too often, considering you were going to be in the top of the results. It seemed like you ended up being the 'stop sign' for the peleton. Marking a rider is a common tactic, and though frustrating is actually a sign of respect.
'Wheelsucking' often is executed by those who aren't confident and/or in as good of fitness as the leaders. Rather than simply not race, I propose 'wheelsuckers' continue to race in cat 4/5 races until they can achieve the skills and fitness to take control. Thankfully, cat 1,2 and 3 riders have fitness and skill so you won't have to put up with the slow pace of cat 4 racers much longer.

actually, there is a lot of "wheelsucking" in 1/2/3 racing. it is called racing smart. if an all9yards guys is in a break with 3 mercy guys, the all9yards guy would be stupid to do any work at all. is this being a pussy? Hell no, it is being smart. the only time the all9yards guy should do an ounce of work is if he has at least as many teammates and everybody is doing the same amount of work. it is called racing. if you don't like wheelsuckers, just do time trials. road racing is about racing smart. if you are the strongest person in the race, at state, you should be able to drop people on the hill. you can't draft on a hill very easily. at the top of the hill, get people to work with you. talk to them.

& For What It's Worth...the 1/2/3 race was annoying slow too, albeit 80 miles of slow.

The smartest place to be in a peloton is near the front but not the leader. 'Staying out of the wind' is a cleaver strategy, that saves 30-40% of the energy a rider pulling would use. I don't think it is possible to be a 'wheelsucker' in the main pack. This only becomes an issue in a breakway group, when one of the riders refuses to work, therefore jepordizing the success of the break.

If the 1/2/3's race was too damn slow why didn't you take a flyer off the front?

'Cause I am a wheelsucker ;)

SOME RIDERS HAVE MORE TIME TO TRAIN AND ARE VERY GIFTED, THESE FOLKS TEND TO PUSH THE PACE AND SHOULD UPGRADE INSTEAD OF NAME CALLING AND COMPLAINING.

WHEN RACING WITH SUPERIOR RIDERS I PREFER WHEEL SUCKING RATHER THAN FALLING OFF THE BACK. DOES THAT MAKE ME A PUSSY, PERHAPS.

LETS SEE HOW YOU RACE WHEN YOU UPGRADE. WILL YOU BE A 'PUSSY' A 'TOUGH GUY' OR A RESPECTED RIDER WHO TAKES HIS PULLS AND RIDES SMART.
